Great news!!! Mozilla Firefox 2.0 Final version is released today.
Mozilla's Firefox 2 Web browser boasts across-the-board improvements, including better security features, a revamped tabbed-browsing system, and updates to the way Firefox handles RSS feeds. "It will be interesting to see if Firefox can hold on to its audience, or if Microsoft can get more people to return to Internet Explorer," said Jupiter Research analyst Michael Gartenberg. Did you upgrade your installation of Firefox already? I would love to install Firefox 2 Final, but I'm really afraid about old extensions, because RC3 had many compatibility issues with old extensions for Firefox 1.x I'd love to hear some feedback from you before upgrading |

I'm not upgrading to Firefox 2 because of compatibility issues. As far I know, one of the best plugins - Proxy Switch - does not work under Firefox 2, so I'll wait until it gets solved

I've been using the dailies for a little while (I like to punish myself) and I really have enjoyed watching the features develop. I'm using the release at the moment, with no plugins for the most part. It works great and I love the builtin spellchecker (I predicted this feature kinda a while ago hehe).

Haha, I remember earlier posts from excited members - "Firefox 2 is coming, I'll upgrade", "Wow, I can't wait for final release", etc. And no one wants to upgrade now?

I upgraded to Firefox 2.0, but I'm just playing with it, no serious browsing.

I only do serious browsing
I have done my standard tests, and firefox is able to stay running for three days with 50 tabs and remain usable. The major issue I have seen is that the bigger the history gets, the slower browsing gets, so I have shrunk the history to 1 day and it works great. I love firefox 2.0. It's stable, fast, and I now have it working on both Ubuntu and XP. It's a slick browser, and I absolutely love the built-in spell checker.
