Some people have requested me to provide a little more information about text links on websites and how much does it cost. There is a short list with included Page Ranks and prices for single text link for a month.

Please note that these prices can be different depending on every website, but this list should help you to know how much money is available to earn for selling text links.

Less than Page Rank 5 - $5 a month
Page Rank 5 - $10-50 (depends on how much unique visitors website has, where links will be visible - just in main page or all pages on entire website)
Page Rank 6 - $30-150 (also depends on visitors, daily page views and other factors listed above)
Page Rank 7 - $100-300 (the same dependences)
Page Rank 8 - $200-1800
Page Rank 9 - $2000-5000

And there are no info about Page Rank 10 websites (such as microsoft.com for example), but i think prices should start at $10000 a month for single text link

Yes, it's ok to get some extra money for selling text links to advertisers, but if you are working alone, the best Page Rank will be 7 (and it's very very hard to get this), usual you get PR6 ant that's all.

But Page Rank 6 has advantages too - it's possible to get this after some work, but you won't earn just pennies for text links (as websites with lower Page Ranks earn).

Agree with your opinions - text links is a good way to receive some extra money from your website.

But there is my opinion about advantages and disatvantages for buying and selling text links:

Advantages for advertisers:

Text links help to improve your search engine rankings and get a boost in search results.
It doesn't cost a lot (of course, depends on Page rank of website you are buying text link from, but higher Page Rank always means better positions in search engines results pages)

Disatvantages for advertisers:

You pay fixed ammount of money every month and it doesn't depends on how much traffic you get. (When you buy banners, it's needed to pay just for unique clicks).
Text links are visible less (compare it with nice and colourful banner).

Anyway, it's still worth to buy text links in my opinion. And sometimes it's worht much more than banners or graphics based ads.
